3 Non-Traditional Ways to Redeem Your Time While Advancing Your Business
Written Sept. 29th 2023
We often forget the importance of redeeming our time, rather than merely seeking ways to save time through shortcuts and rushed work. In this context, “redeeming time” means walking circumspectly with integrity and making wise decisions to utilise time effectively. It involves freeing yourself from the perceived limitations and captivity of time, taking back control of your time, and rebounding from lost or wasted time, to move forward and advance. There is a better way to manage your time, achieve real results and accelerate the advancement of your business.
👋 I’m Andrika, the founder and creative director of Infinite Administrative Solutions. Launching this new business venture has been a worthwhile journey, which I am thrilled to share with you along with some helpful keys and principles I’ve learned along the way and live by daily. These principles help me to thrive in mind, body and spirit. Time is one of the most precious resources we have the privilege of managing, and as entrepreneurs it can be challenging to manage it while balancing work, personal and family life. Although I am not an expert at time management, I am learning to redeem my time and view my life from the perspective of “I am governing time” and not “running out of it”.
Here Are Three (3) Non-Traditional Ways to Redeem Your Time While Advancing Your Business:
1. Guard Your Heart & Rest
Guarding your heart is crucial to being at rest in mind, body and spirit. As entrepreneurs and business owners, we can easily become overwhelmed by new trends, negative opinions, performance metrics, and the pressure to outdo competitors. This can sometimes lead to setting unrealistic goals based on the fear of “falling behind”,“losing sales”, “not being good enough” or “running out of time”. Guarding your heart against negative thoughts will keep you from falling prey to such fears and anxieties and save you valuable time, energy and mental capacity to dream meaningful dreams and prioritise what matters most. Personally, I find that engaging with God in relationship throughout the day, enriches me spiritually and enlarges my capacity to rest, accomplish more in a short space of time and clear my mind space to thrive throughout the day.
You’re not running out of time or being left behind. Take time to carefully plan out your goals and execute them. You don’t have to compete with or constantly monitor and mimic the trends of your competitors to excel in your unique business sphere. It is perfectly fine to learn from others, without resorting to copying or competing. Be yourself and focus on locating your authentic target audience who will be attracted to the real you and your unique business blueprint.
Remember that your thought process and the condition of your heart will always influence the direction and success of your business, relationships, health and overall well-being. Rest and be intentional about meditating on what is true, honest and pure.
You will achieve more in your business as you guard your heart and work from a place of rest and authenticity.
2. Be Proactive & Walk Circumspectly
Don’t wait for work to pile up or for new customer inquiries to increase and spiral out of control. Take time to assess your business operations model well in advance. Look for any existing or potential loopholes or flaws in the way you currently manage your business products, services and clients. Research and implement the best systems or tools for efficiently managing your business and clients. This will help you to maintain a smooth flow of operation in the future, keep your customers happy, and provide you with more free time for growth and leisure.
Moreover, aim to walk circumspectly and operate your business with integrity and truth. Remember not to compromise your values and integrity or be hasty in making decisions when considering potential business partnerships or contractual agreements. Be diligent in serving the needs of others above yours and doing what is right and honorable with your time, contracts, partnerships, work, resources and finances.
3. Recruit, Empower & Mobilise Your Team
If you’re currently overwhelmed with the day-to-day management of your business and donning multiple hats, it might be time to consider building a healthy team to assist you in developing and expanding your business. Your genuine investment in people will not only enhance your business operations but also transform lives, create job opportunities, empower people and build nations. Whether you hire one or five additional team members, your business will soar to new heights, giving you more leisure time to do what you love while contributing to the career advancement and well-being of your team member(s).
In conclusion, redeeming your time as an entrepreneur is crucial to the advancement of your business and overall well-being. By implementing these non-traditional ways to redeem your time, you can effectively manage your business, achieve real results, and accelerate its growth. Don’t be consumed by the pressure to compete and conform, or the fear of “falling behind”. Instead, rest, work proactively, walk circumspectly and be intentional about meditating on what is true, honest, and pure as you build your business. Remember, your thought process and the condition of your heart will always influence the direction and success of your business. So, rest and take control of your time today; build a business that aligns with truth, pure motives, your authentic self and goals.
